Romantic Staycations
Enjoy an intimate experience at one of our ten favorite B&Bs in your own backyard.
By Beth D’Addono
Staycations are well and good, but really relaxing at home can be a challenge. Why not venture out at least a few miles from your abode and experience a refreshing overnight stay at a local B&B. While not for the person in search of an anonymous experience, B&Bs fill the sleepover niche between high-end hotels and cookie cutter corporate retreats.
In our own backyard, where bed and breakfasts have been popular since George Washington first trekked to Valley Forge, B&Bs offer an overnight experience that satisfies quaint, modern and historic tastes. Here is a subjective list of 10 of our favorites in Bucks and Montgomery County. Each one has its own personality and quirks—which is exactly what we love about them.

Cozy up by the wood burning stone fireplace and contemplate the river views at this comfortable inn across the bridge from New Jersey. Activity options are many, from tubing on the Delaware to antiquing in nearby New Hope, but chances are you’ll want to just sit back and relax. Innkeepers Shaun and Linda Buckler have added a full breakfast to the daily repast, and offer warm hospitality along the Delaware.
