For most of us cat naps, glasses of wine and vegging out in front of the tube fail as relaxing strategies, and instead become monotonous reminders that a vacation or at least a weekend getaway is desperately needed. While a monthly holiday may not be within a budget, a retreat to Serenity Day Spa & Wellness Center promises to not only put that spark back into your life, but also help you rejuvenate your body, inside and out, all without the hassle of airport security.
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, this Doylestown gem has successfully found its niche by promoting all aspects of health and wellness for the body, mind and soul by embracing worldly techniques and holistic measures in their preventative approach. Here, one finds their chi, not complimentary highlights. “We are a different experience,” says owner and a seasoned massage therapist Jennifer Wiegand. “We are truly a luxurious spa. We practice high-touch bodywork and alternative healing,” continues Wiegand.
In fact, Serenity Day Spa & Wellness Center has created one of the most varied and exciting menus incorporating ancient and modern techniques from around the world. From a list that is properly labeled ‘Exotic Journey’, the Spa offers a slew of body wraps, massages, facials, non-surgical facelift procedures, manicure and pedicures and now even yoga and meditation classes. In one session, an Indonesian body scrub of coconut milk and soothing jojoba is followed up with a cooling yogurt body mask, honey cucumber facial and lastly, a jasmine-scented oil massage, with an option to add a Thai Massage. During a Tibetan Body Balance you start with a steam or sauna, then indulge in a spine massage with essential oils, while warm river stone and foot reflexology techniques all expertly blend to center you body and mind. There is also a Mandarin Empress treatment which infuses Asian ginseng and pearl for a one of a kind, acupressure facelift, followed by a green tea manicure & pedicure, exclusive to Serenity Day Spa & Wellness Center.
Prior to a myriad of services offered, each client is also cordially invited to unwind in a Roman Steam Bath or a Finnish Sauna, or simply relax in a lounge luxuriously tailored for immediate comfort and warmth. Acupuncture, yoga classes and even Henna tattooing all complete the idea of a non-traveling, mini vacation within the confines of the Spa.
“A Spa outing is one of the best preventative ways to take care of your body, it helps alleviate diseases caused by stress, propels digestion and overall body function,” says Weigand.
Now, as the holidays are approaching and stress is at its ultimate, taking an exotic vacation may not be in the cards, but devoting a few hours at Serenity Day Spa & Wellness Center to nurture your body and spirit may be the ideal ticket to rejuvenate your mind and begin the New Year with a healthier body.
Serenity Day Spa & Wellness Center is located at 64 E. Swamp Road (Rt. 313) in Doylestown. For more information, call (215) 230-3487 or visit www.serenity-dayspa.com.
