Fonthill’s Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
July 4th from 12 to 5pm
Experience the nostalgia of yesterday at an early 20th century July 4th celebration. Bring the family and partake in a decorated bike parade, hay wagon rides and a watermelon eating contest. Try your hand at turn-of-the-century games and activities including the cake walk, stilt walking, wheelbarrow races and tug-o-war. Don’t forget to bring your bats and join in the 19th century town ball game. The merriment would not be complete without patriotic music and picnic foods. For more on the celebration and ticket prices contact (215) 345-0210, ext 123. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at the gate. The Fonthill Museum is located in Doylestown on 84 S. Pine Street.
60th Tinicum Arts Festival
July 11th from 10am to 7pm and July 12th from11am to 5pm
More than 250 artists and artisans will display their creations at the centerpiece art barn and under the shade of the trees at Tinicum Park from July 11th through July 12th. Search through thousands of volumes at the book wagon and hopefully find hidden treasures at the White Elephant Tent. Among the artists attending the event, Robert Beck will be painting on-site on Saturday from 11am to 3pm in the Discovery Tent. Make sure you place a bid on his work as well as other items at the silent auction. Meet Bucks County authors and partake in the many other art and crafts activities. Sip freshly squeezed lemonade while listening to some live music and eating a tasty sandwich. The entire festival is run by volunteers and is the primary fundraiser for the non-profit Tinicum Civic Association. For more information on becoming a volunteer or for any questions regarding the festival, call (610) 294-9420 or contact craftfest@verizon.net.

CB Cares 2nd Annual Celebrity Chef & Waiter Gala was a Success!
The bar and plenty of tips were raised at CB Cares 2nd Annual Celebrity Chef & Waiter Gala 2009. 95.7 BEN FM’s Marilyn Russell headed up the celebrity wait staff in which several community leaders and elected officials stepped up to “serve the community” on Sunday, May 31st in the ballroom of the Doylestown Country Club. The every aspect of the evening was easy on the eyes and palate, while the meal was exquisitely orchestrated with each course being prepared by a different well known chef from the area. All of the menu’s provisions hailed from less than 10 miles away from the beautiful venue. This sustainable philosophy sets the Celebrity Gala apart from the rest of the region’s fundraisers. When your name is CB Cares, you really should care from the ground to the table. Visit www.cb-cares.org for more photos from the event.
